This will be my first lifestyle review on a home product that I think is going to benefit my readers as well. I received the new Origin Superior Coolmax Latex Pillow one day and I was actually excited to get back in bed and give this pillow a try. But before we get to my whole experience, I’m going to give my first impression on the Origin Superior Coolmax Latex Pillow.
First Impressions and Details
I received two sets of pillow. I immediately thought to myself that I should use one, and the other one I will let my wife use. This is good. This way, I get to write my own experience in using the pillow and on the other hand, I get to have feedbacks from my wife on what she thinks about it.
The Origin Superior Coolmax Latex pillow came in two separate boxes. The sky blue box was a little damaged when I received to, probably due to the transportation handling. But otherwise, the pillow is all good and wrapped in plastic.
Now, the first thing that made me go “ooooh” when I first touch the pillow was how soft the material really is. It is probably one of the softest and coziest material that I have ever touch on a pillow. The pillow feels solid and being a latex pillow, it is also a little on the heavy side. But not the kind of heavy that you think. It’s just heavier than most pillow. But very soft.
The white Tencel fabric pillow cover looks and feels super comfortable. The textured surface made it feels premium. And yes, this is a premium pillow. It shouts premium as soon as I saw the box. Yeah, by this time you can imagine that I would already have plopped my head on the pillow. It feels, soft and yet springy. This is the type of pillow that would make you travel to Neverland within seconds. It’s that comfy!
Ok. Here’s a little detail on the pillow. The Origin Superior Coolmax Latex Pillow is made in Germany, hence the latex technology and comfort level is world class. It measures 65cm length x 40cm width and 13cm in thickness. It is also uses a natural latex along with Coolmax cooling gel technology, that’s why it always feels cool and comfy. I kept mentioning comfy because it simply is.

Sleeping Experience
I was excited to get it started, so when I went to sleep at night, I must give this pillow a try. From my first night experience, I noticed that the thickness is a little too thick for me. Although the pillow gives a comfy feel, the thickness is not for me. I kept moving left to right, top and down just to find that “sweet spot”. But it just doesn’t feel right. This was on the first night.
The second night was similar. I do feel that the pillow supports my head and neck really well, and the comfort level is high along with the cooling gel. Yes, it does feel cooler to use this pillow. But I was still unable to find that sweet spot on the overall comfort level with this pillow.
One the third night, I was contemplating of sleeping on the Origin Superior Coolmax Latex pillow because I still haven’t found my sweet spot yet. But I decide to use it again. Somehow, the thickness feels okay. And I went to sleep almost immediately. Waking up in the morning after the third night was different. It simply felt that I had a full night rest. I woke up feeling energized. Not to sound cliché but that’s what happened.
And after a week, it was all better. So now I took a note to myself that I should constantly sleep using the pillow in order to get used to it. Like I said earlier, the thickness is not what I preferred. After a while, it feels so much better. The thickness doesn’t bother me as much anymore. It feels so comfortable sleeping on your back or on your either sides.
I have back problems. My lower back pain comes and go. But all the time while using the pillow, I have much lesser back pain and most of all, it doesn’t hurt as much when I walk or going out doing my daily routines. And the week after that, my lower back pain is almost gone. I still have it occasionally, but feels much better.
As for my wife’s sleeping experience, she was a little uncomfortable with the thickness as well. But after a while, the managed to adapt to the feel and she sleeps comfortably too. She always prefers thinner and softer cotton based pillow, so trying out the Origin Superior Coolmax Latex Pillow is her first latex based pillow experience. And she did gave me her ratings. She gives 8.9 out of 10 for the pillow.

My overall sleeping experience was totally awesome. I’m still using the pillow until today and I won’t sleep with my old pillow anymore. So I would highly recommend this Origin Superior Coolmax Latex Pillow to anyone who are looking for new pillow or pillows.
