MDSB plans to host the Sabak Bernam Explorace event in collaboration with Tourism Selangor to promote the tourism products in the Sabak Bernam area.
On August 13, at Homestay Sungai Haji Dorani in Sabak Bernam, the Selangor State Government, through the Official Tourism Promotion Agency, Tourism Selangor, and the Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB), conducted the Sabak Bernam Explorace 2022 programme. More than one hundred participants have participated in this programme, and the organisation of this event is a continuation of the Sabak Bernam Tourism Carnival, which the Sabak Bernam District Council successfully organised from 2016 to 2018.
Following the successful organisation of the Sabak Bernam Tourism Carnival last year, the MDSB plans to host the Sabak Bernam Explorace event in collaboration with Tourism Selangor to promote the tourism products in the Sabak Bernam area. This event is a group car exploration competition in which competitors must find the location by answering questions and completing tasks at each checkpoint based on the information they were given.
The CEO of Tourism Selangor, Mr. Azrul Shah bin Mohamad, made the following statement: “This event is intended to support and encourage the organisation of tourism events in the state of Selangor, particularly in the Sabak Bernam district, in an effort to increase the number of tourists and promote the Sabak Bernam district as an agrotourism destination in Selangor. It can enhance tourism activities based on “Experiential Tourism” and the communities of the Sabak Bernam district through the activities provided.”
The Sabak Bernam Explorace 2022 programme includes the preparation of activities for the participants, such as quiz-taking, kite-making, decorating and eating ‘nasi ambeng’, lobster fishing, searching for clams on the beach, and rice winnowing. Among the tourism areas included surrounding Sabak Bernam district are such as Homestay Sungai Haji Dorani, Sungai Besar, Homestay Papitusulem, Sekinchan, Homestay Sg. Nibong, Sungai Besar, Batu 4 Sepintas Homestay, Sabak Bernam, and Wak Surgi Mini Museum, Sungai Besar.
