Tourism Selangor is thrilled to announce its plans this year, laying the foundation for the much-anticipated Visit Selangor Year 2025. As the tourism landscape continues to evolve, Tourism Selangor is gearing up to enhance the appeal of Selangor as a premier tourist destination.
Tourism Milestone and Focus Tourism Segmentation
Tourism Selangor aims to host 5.6 million tourists this year, showcasing the state’s commitment to positioning Selangor as a top-tier tourism destination. The focus this year is on medical tourism, leveraging the significant number of hospitals that is able to provide excellent healthcare for both domestic and international visitors. With 20 private hospitals recognised by the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), Selangor aims to become a prominent medical tourism destination.
The Northern Regions of Selangor are set to become tourist destinations, promoting community-based tourism through initiatives like the Selangor Community Hosts Programme and through agro-tourism segmentation. The Sabak Bernam Development Area (SABDA) initiative will be ramped up to stimulate the state’s economy and empower local communities.
